Before the regular class starts, our Before Class CPL Prep Session gives you 45 minutes in a small group — hands-on time with a real firearm and an experienced firearm instructor, plus straight answers to the questions you’d rather not ask in a full room. You walk into class settled instead of catching up. It’s not something you’ll find at most CPL classes.

Our one-day CPL course combines classroom instruction and the required live-fire training into a single-day program. Free parking is available on site, and our Livonia classroom is accessible from major Metro Detroit roadways, including I-96, I-275, and Middlebelt Road.
Where Livonia Residents Apply for Their CPL
Michigan issues your CPL through the clerk of the county where you live — so Livonia residents apply through the Wayne County Clerk, not the city of Livonia. Here is the order it happens in:
1. Take the class. You leave us the same day with your certificate of completion — the document the clerk requires.
2. Apply at the Wayne County Clerk. Bring your certificate and photo ID. Appointments are required, and there is a $100 application and licensing fee payable to the county clerk, plus about $15 for fingerprinting — $115 in total.
3. Get fingerprinted within 45 days. Livonia residents can be printed by their local police agency or the county sheriff — you must do this within 45 days of submitting your application.
4. Wait for the decision. The clerk must issue your license, or a notice of statutory disqualification, within 45 days of your classifiable fingerprints.
