Yes! This class is designed for all experience levels, including students who have never handled a firearm before. Our instructors take the time to explain everything clearly, answer questions, and ensure you feel comfortable and confident throughout the day. You will never be rushed or expected to “already know” anything.

New to firearms or nervous about class? That’s completely normal. Our instructors are patient, professional, and experienced with first-time students. For anyone who wants extra support, we offer an optional “Before Class CPL Prep Session.” This 45-minute session is perfect for first-time gun owners, students who have never fired a handgun, or anyone who simply wants a little extra confidence before class begins. You can add it when you register for your CPL class.

Yes. We offer two optional add-on sessions for students who would like additional instruction:

Before Class CPL Prep Session | 8:00 AM–8:45 AM
Designed for new shooters, first-time gun owners, or anyone who would feel more comfortable with extra preparation before class. We review firearm safety, loading and unloading, grip and stance basics, range expectations, common beginner mistakes, and any questions you may have.

After-Class Gun Cleaning Instruction
Learn how to safely disassemble, clean, lubricate, and maintain your firearm after class. This hands-on session helps you protect your investment and feel more confident caring for your gun at home.

Both sessions are optional, available on select class dates, and may be added during registration for an additional fee. Seating is limited so each student receives personal attention.

No. Many of our students are first-time gun owners or have never handled a firearm before.
If you do not have your own firearm, we offer gun rentals for $30, which includes 30 rounds of ammunition. Our instructors walk you through everything step-by-step during live fire.

Yes. Our class meets all Michigan CPL training requirements and is accepted statewide. Your class is taught by experienced USCCA-certified instructors. We also guide you through the next steps after class, so you know exactly what to do to apply for your Michigan CPL.

The process is straightforward and can be broken down into a few simple steps:

1. Register for a CPL training class
   Complete the required training with a certified instructor.
2. Receive your training certificate
   You will receive your certificate at the end of class.
3. Apply at your County Clerk’s Office
   Submit your application and required documents in person.
4. Receive your CPL
   Your license is typically issued within 45 days, and often sooner.

Certificates are printed using the name entered during registration, so please ensure it matches your driver’s license exactly, including suffixes such as Jr., Sr., II, III, etc. Students should review their certificate before leaving class and notify staff immediately of any corrections needed. If an error was made by our staff, we will replace the certificate at no charge. Requests made after class for lost, damaged, or corrected certificates due to incorrect registration information are subject to a $15 reprint fee. Replacement certificates are available for pickup during scheduled class hours, and mailing may be requested for an additional $5 postage/handling fee.

Each class is a one-day course, running from 9:00 AM to approximately 5:30 PM (about 8–8.5 hours).
We include breaks throughout the day and keep the pace comfortable and easy to follow, especially for new students.

Our CPL / CCW class tuition is normally $59 per person. Watch for flash and holiday sales!

Standard additional fees:
• $12 range fee
• $30 firearm rental + ammo, if needed

These additional fees are collected at check-in on class day, not online.

Eye and ear protection are provided, and your certificate is issued at the end of class.

Note: Once you register for a class, you have reserved a seat in a limited-capacity class. Tuition payments are non-refundable once a spot is secured.

That said, we understand that life happens. Emergency rescheduling may be permitted in limited circumstances, and we do our best to be fair and flexible whenever possible.

Changes of preference including, but not limited to, deciding to attend a different provider, choosing a class closer to home, scheduling convenience, or personal reconsideration do not qualify for refunds and are not considered emergencies.

No-call / no-shows: Please contact our office to inquire about possible rescheduling.
Repeated no-shows or late rescheduling requests may require an additional fee.

When possible, advance notice is appreciated so we may offer the seat to another student.

Our goal is to keep classes running smoothly while remaining reasonable and understanding.

“CCW” stands for Concealed Carry Weapon, which is a general term used in many states to describe carrying a firearm hidden from view.

In Michigan, the correct legal term is CPL (Concealed Pistol License). A CPL is the license required to legally carry a concealed pistol.

While many people search for “CCW classes” or “concealed carry classes,” they are typically referring to the training needed to obtain a Michigan CPL.
