Where Mount Clemens Residents Apply for Their CPL

Michigan issues your CPL through the clerk of the county where you live — so Mount Clemens residents apply through the Macomb County Clerk, not the city of Mount Clemens. Here is the order it happens in:

1. Take the class. You leave us the same day with your certificate of completion — the document the clerk requires.
2. Apply at the Macomb County Clerk. Bring your certificate and photo ID. Appointments are required, and there is a $100 application and licensing fee payable to the county clerk, plus $15 for fingerprinting — $115 in total.
3. Get fingerprinted within 45 days. Mount Clemens residents can be printed by their local police agency or the county sheriff — you must do this within 45 days of submitting your application.
4. Wait for the decision. The clerk must issue your license, or a notice of statutory disqualification, within 45 days of your classifiable fingerprints.

Macomb County publishes its CPL process here: Macomb County Clerk — Concealed Pistol Licenses.

Mount Clemens CPL Questions We Get Asked Most

Do I have to live in Mount Clemens to take the class here?
No. Anyone may train with us. Where you apply is what depends on residency — Mount Clemens residents apply in Macomb County.

Is the range in Mount Clemens?
No. Classroom instruction is at our Livonia facility and live fire is at a private range we reserve for the class, so you finish everything in one day.

I have never fired a gun. Is that a problem in a Mount Clemens class?
It is the most common thing we hear. A large share of our students fire their first round with us, and rental firearms are available if you do not own one yet.

How soon can I get in?
We run classes most weeks. Mount Clemens students usually book the nearest Saturday or Sunday — seats are shown live on the booking calendar.
